About
The slip slip knit is a one-stitch decrease that leans to the left on the knit side of the work.
Procedure
Western Method
Traditional Method
- Slip the next two stitches individually onto the right needle as if to knit.
- Insert the left needle through the front loops of both slipped stitches from back to front.
- Knit the two slipped stitches together through the back loops.
Modified Method
The modified method for the slip slip knit twists the second stitch of the decrease, which in certain situations can cause it to lay flatter and be less stretched out.
- Slip the first stitch onto the right needle as if to knit.
- Slip the second stitch onto the right needle as if to purl.
- Insert the left needle through the front loops of both slipped stitches on the right needle from back to front.
- Knit the two slipped stitches together through the back loops.
