About

The Chinese Waitress Bind Off creates a decorative edge with a two-stitch cording. It is a bind off that has a little stretch and is good for shawls and other edges that need some leniency.

Procedure

  1. Eastern purl the next stitch.
  2. Yarnover (YO).
  3. Eastern purl the next stitch. There will be three stitches on the right needle.
  4. Pass the middle stitch over the stitch closest to the needle tip and off from the right needle. Two stitches remain on the right needle.
  5. Pass the second stitch over the stitch closest to the needle tip and off from the right needle. One stitch remains on the right needle.
  6. Repeat steps 2-4 until all stitches are bound off.
  7. Break yarn and pull through to fasten off the last stitch.
