Cast On With Provisional Slip Knots
- Leaving a long enough tail to weave in, create a slip knot and place it on the left-hand needle.
- With the strand attached to the yarn ball, create a second slip knot and place it on the left-hand needle. These two stitches do not count as cast on stitches.
- Insert the right-hand needle from front to back in the space between the first and second stitches on the left-hand needle. Knit through this space, leaving the stitches on the left-hand needle. Slip the new stitch onto the left-hand needle.
- Repeat Step 3 until there are the required number of cast on stitches, excluding the two slip knots.
- At the end of the first row, carefully undo the two slip knots by pulling on the loose end.
