The 1 Over 1 Left Purl Cross is a two-stitch cable where the knit stitch passes over the purl stitch upwards and to the left.

Procedure

Western Method

With A Cable Needle

  1. Slip one stitch purlwise to the cable needle.
  2. Hold the cable needle to the front of the work.
  3. Purl the next stitch on the left needle.
  4. Knit the stitch held on the cable needle.

Tutorial Video

With No Cable Needle

  1. Slip one stitch purlwise to the right needle.
  2. Purl the next stitch.
  3. Insert the left needle from front to back through the front of the second stitch on the right needle.
  4. Slip the first and second stitches off from the right needle, allowing the first stitch to drop off the needle.
  5. Slip the first stitch that was dropped back onto the right needle.
  6. Knit the stitch held on the left needle.
